In 1989 a billboard size clock was installed in New York. It displayed the grand total of debts and the amount to be paid by each family.
The clock was manufactured is such a way that it can hold about thirteen digits with a dollar symbol. In September 2008 an additional figure “1” was ensured to share space with dollar sign. “Sign of the times” as it was called showed growth of debt to the size of the clock. By 2009 the Durst Organization is planning to put back the clock with one to display quadrillion dollars.
